President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has deferred the constitutional review process to the incoming parliament.
On Thursday, December 24, Farmaajo signed a new decree that deferred all constitutional review processes to the 11th Parliament.
Farmaajo took the decision because the term of the 10th Parliament expires on Sunday, December 27.
Currently, Article 136 of the country’s constitution empowers parliamentarians to adopt amendments to the laws through a vote or via a referendum.
