Farmaajo Holds National Security Meeting in Mogadishu

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of Somalia held a National Security Meeting with security chiefs in Mogadishu.

The Tuesday meeting took place at Villa Somalia and occurred four days after the House of Representatives passed the no confidence motion against Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire.

The former Prime Minister accepted the outcome of the vote of no confidence and said he was doing so to avoid dividing the country along partisan lines.

According to multiple sources who were privy to the meeting, all the security chiefs were at Villa Somalia for talks with Farmaajo.

Their talks centered on the prevailing situation around the country. However, there has been no news on the outcomes of the talks.

Sources have intimated that Gen. Yusuf Rageh Odowaa, the Chief of the Somali National Army (SNA), attended the meeting.

Other top security honchos present at the meeting included the Police Commissioner as well as Fahad Yasin, the Director of the National Intelligence Security Agency (NISA).

Reports indicate that the leaders talked about the measures required to keep the country peaceful and stable despite the recent political changes.
