Farmaajo Implored to Resign over Gedo Region Crisis

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has been implored to resign over his handling of the crisis in Gedo region.

Abdirashid Hassan Nur Janan, the Minister of Security in Jubbaland State, implored Farmaajo to step down.

Janan claimed that Farmaajo is incapable of resolving the issues revolving around Gedo.

Currently, Farmaajo and President Ahmed Islam Madobe of Jubbaland are at loggerheads because of the former’s handling of Gedo.

Madobe has threatened that Jubbaland would not hold elections until FGS returns Gedo to the local administration.

Janan made these claims when addressing hundreds of regional troops in Beled Hawo.

Further, he called upon Fahad Yasin, the Director of National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) not to interfere in Gedo.

Janan said that his differences with Farmaajo, with whom he is related, are not personal.
