Somalia’s President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo held a phone conversation with the President of the Libyan Presidency Council.
The phone call between President Farmaajo and President Mohamed Younis Menfi of Libya took place on Thursday, January 13.
During their phone call, Farmaajo expressed his gratitude for the recent release of 97 Somalis who had been in detention in Libya.
Libya released the detainees after recent talks between Farmaajo and Menfi.
According to Farmaajo, the release of the Somali immigrants is a boost towards strengthening diplomatic ties between Somalia and Libya.
