President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has lashed out at Djibouti for detaining his Presidential Security Advisor.
Apparently, Djibouti detained Fahad Yasin, the immediate former Director of National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
Yasin had been in Djibouti and was scheduled to travel back to Mogadishu by air.
However, Djiboutian authorities prevented him from boarding the plane and leaving for Somalia.
Abdirashid Hashi, the Director of Communications in the Office of the President, confirmed this turn of events to the public on September 17.
For quite some time, the Djiboutian government has not been happy with Farmaajo’s administration.
They accuse Mogadishu of warming up to Ethiopia and Eritrea while leaving Djibouti in the cold.
Yasin’s detention in Djibouti is likely to be a continuation of the display of differences between Farmaajo and Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.
