Reports from Villa Somalia indicate that President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo is currently in an informal meeting with President Said Abdullahi Deni and President Ahmed Islam Madobe.
Madobe and Deni have been in Mogadishu since Monday this week for elections talks with Farmaajo.
The three leaders were scheduled to kick their talks off on Wednesday but this failed to take place after Deni and Madobe tabled a raft of demands that Farmaajo had to meet first.
Today, reports indicated that Farmaajo acceded to one of Madobe’s requests after meeting the Puntland leader late last night at Villa Somalia.
According to insiders, Farmaajo has agreed to remove government troops from the Gedo region, as Madobe requested.
On Saturday, the three leaders are in an informal session where they could discuss any barriers to a successful talk amongst themselves.
