President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of Somalia has traveled to Kinshasa for an official tour on April 18.
The plane carrying Farmaajo’s entourage arrived at the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Sunday night.
While in Kinshasa, Farmaajo is scheduled to hold a series of meetings and discussions with DRC’s President Felix Tshisekedi.
Several senior government and security officers welcomed Farmaajo when he disembarked from his plane at Kinshasa International Airport.
Sources close to Farmaajo’s office said that Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta could also be in Kinshasa this week.
Somalia and Kenya do not enjoy cordial diplomatic relations.
President Tshisekedi is the current Chairman of the African Union (AU).
Farmaajo has been on the limelight in recent weeks after failing to leave office despite his term expiring on February 8, 2021.
