The leader of Wadajir Party has denied reports that members of the opposition are willing to meet President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo any time soon.
Abdirahman Abdishakur, who leads the opposition Wadajir Party, made this statement on April 18.
In his words, Farmaajo is disinterested in holding genuine talks with the various stakeholders in Somalia.
“Farmaajo has closed all talks to genuine discussions on elections,” Abdishakur said.
The recent talks collapsed over two weeks ago.
Later, the House of Representatives voted to extend Farmaajo’s term in office, which expired on February 8, by two more years.
A fortnight ago, Farmaajo’s team walked out of the talks between Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and Federal Member States (FMS) at Afisiyoni Center.
