President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has urged Kenya to accept the judgment by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the maritime dispute with Somalia.
The ICJ issued its ruling on the matter on October 12.
In it, the Hague-based court ruled in favor of Somalia.
Farmaajo said that Somalia had already accepted the ruling by the ICJ and advised Kenya to do the same.
He also hailed the decision by ICJ.
The outgoing Somali leader delivered his speech in a televised address moments after the ICJ ruling.
During his speech, Farmaajo accused Kenya of spending huge resources to “discredit and isolate Somalia politically.”
Somalia filed the case against Kenya in 2014 under the former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
Farmaajo expressed his gratitude to ex-President Mohamud.
