Three of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo’s allies from the Federal Member States (FMS) have warned him against extending his term.
President Abdiaziz Laftagareen of Southwest, President Ali Guudlaawe of HirShabelle, and President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor of Galmudug warned him on March 29.
The warning came on the sidelines of the latest plans to resume talks to solve the months-long electoral impasse.
The latest round of talks between Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and FMS is scheduled to take place in Mogadishu.
According to sources, the House of Representatives (Lower House) was to hold a session to approve Farmaajo’s request for term extension.
