Mogadishu, Somalia — Somalia’s Minister of Internal Security, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, today participated in a high-level security meeting convened at the Office of the National Security Adviser in Mogadishu.
The meeting brought together key representatives from Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) institutions, the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), and the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS).
Discussions centered on accelerating the rollout of the AUSSOM mission, which is set to replace ATMIS, and enhancing collaboration between national and international security actors.
Fartaag emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and reaffirmed Somalia’s focus on strengthening its security architecture to address emerging threats.
The stakeholders also explored ways to streamline coordination and operational effectiveness to advance long-term peace and stability across Somalia.
Today’s meeting is seen as a key step toward bolstering national security reforms and improving cooperation with international partners.
