The federal Minister of Health visited Galkayo in the Mudug region to assess the situation on the ground in the face of the recent COVID-19 pandemic and other insecurities.
Minister Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur visited Galkayo with Dr. Ahmed Al-Mandhari, the Regional Director for the World Health Organization (WHO) Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office.
The two were in Galkayo on Wednesday, May 11.
The purpose of their visit was to assess the challenges facing public health services in the region, especially in the wake of the devastation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
