Somalia’s federal parliament has appointed a committee to prepare for presidential elections in the country.
The House of the People (Lower House) and Senate (Upper House) announced the formation of a joint committee for this purpose.
Somalia is scheduled to elect its 10th president before the end of this month.
Presidential elections are to conclude the electioneering period that has seen the country elect legislators for both chambers of parliament.
The joint committee was formed on May 4.
