FEIT Chairman in Baidoa for Meeting with Southwest Leaders over Suspended Results

The Chairman of the Federal Elections Implementation Team (FEIT) has traveled to Baidoa for a meeting with local leaders.

Muse Gelleh, the FEIT Chairman, led his team to Baidoa for a meeting with President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen.

President Laftagareen has taken issue with the decision by FEIT to cancel results of elections held in Southwest for three House of the People (Lower House) seats.

In his anger, Laftagareen vowed not to cooperate with Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, who supported the cancelation of the results.

Time is running out since the three new Members of Parliament (MPs) should have received their certificates of registration in preparation for the swearing-in ceremony.

Somalia holds the swearing-in ceremony for all newly elected members of the Lower House and Senate (Upper House) on Thursday, April 14.
