FEIT Urges Stakeholders to Show Commitment to Somalia’s Upcoming Elections

The Federal Electoral Implementation Team (FEIT) has urged all stakeholders to demonstrate commitment to the upcoming elections in Somalia.

FEIT issued this rallying call on January 28.

It issued a press statement addressed to all stakeholders in the East African nation.

In the press statement, FEIT indicated growing concern over the “long-standing political differences” that have made it difficult for the country to hold timely elections.

Consequently, the electoral body urged stakeholders to “engage in dialogue.”

It reminded stakeholders of the importance of dialogue in reaching a solution that serves Somalia well.

FEIT commended leaders of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS), Federal Member States (FMS), civil society, and traditional elders for their efforts towards reaching political consensus.
