The Federation of Somali Journalists (FESOJ) organized celebrations to mark the World Press Freedom Day in Somalia.
FESOJ organized the events in Mogadishu on May 3.
Representatives from FESOJ joined others from the Somali Police Force (SPF) and the Office of the Attorney General in marking the day.
Journalists attended the function too.
Somali journalists are among the most persecuted members of the fourth estate in the world.
Journalists in the country are often the subject of blatant intimidation, unlawful arrests, and constant frustrations from Somali authorities.
