The Federation of Somali Trade Unions (FESTU) has commended the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) for ratifying seven International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble ratified the conventions on behalf of the government on February 9.
He ratified the conventions following the decision by the Council of Ministers to approve them on December 24, 2020.
FESTU hailed the ratification of the conventions as not only a positive step but also “new hope” for Somali workers.
