The meeting between Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and Federal Member States (FMS) failed to resume on April 6 as initially planned.
Galmudug’s President Ahmed Karie Qoorqoor was absent as he had traveled back to his region briefly.
Consequently, the other political leaders present opted to postpone the meeting to Wednesday.
President Qoorqoor is expected back to Mogadishu on April 7.
None of the other FGS or regional state leaders is absent.
There are high expectations that the ongoing talks could finally produce the electoral solutions that Somalis have been looking forward to for months.
