The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has issued a stern warning to DP World to stop interfering in the country’s internal affairs.
Ahmed Issa Awad, the country’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, issued the warning on behalf of the government.
He said, “DP World has hurt Somalia incredibly. It continues to endanger the unity of this beautiful country too. Our patience with its interference in our internal affairs is wearing thin.”
Consequently, the minister asked the company, whose headquarters are in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to stop activities that could jeopardize relations between the two countries.
Somalia’s Lower House and Upper House have already banned the firm from operating in the country.
