The first batch of Somali soldiers trained in Eritrea has returned home.
Abdukadir Mohamed Nur, the federal Minister of Defense, confirmed their return back home when speaking to the media.
Nur said that the first returnees arrived in Mogadishu on Tuesday.
They returned home a few days after President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud confirmed that the government would be sending them back home.
The minister added that more Eritrea-trained soldiers would be arriving in the coming days.
Around 5,000 Somali soldiers were trained in Eritrea.
