The first Somalia Joint Fund (SJF) donor meeting of 2024 has already taken place.
The meeting took place in Mogadishu on Monday.
Catriona Laing and George Conway both attended the meeting.
Laing is the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) of the United Nations to Somaia.
Conway wears two hats. He’s the Deputy SRSG as well as the Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator of the UN in Somalia.
They joined other international partners and Somali government officials at the meeting.
Laing and Conway called on the donors to step up their contributions for 2024.
They also reiterated the critical role that SJF will play in supporting Somalia’s pursuit of inclusive politics.
