Abdillahi Bidhan, the Minister of Fisheries in the Federal Government of Somalia, held a meeting with Ambassador Larry Andre.
The meeting between Bidhan and the United States Ambassador to Somalia took place on March 22.
During the meeting, Bidhan briefed Ambassador Andre on the efforts by the ministry to advance the fishing industry in Somalia.
Further, they deliberated cooperation between the US and Somalia to combat illegal, unregulated, and unreported fishing.
The negative impact of delayed elections in Somalia on the fishing sector was also featured in their discussions.
