All the Federal Member States (FMS) leaders have been invited to attend the election talks taking place in Mogadishu on September 10.
A communiqué from the Office of the President at Villa Somalia stated that President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has invited all the leaders to attend the talks on Thursday.
Consequently, leaders from HirShabelle, Southwest, and Galmudug states are expected to travel to the country’s capital in time for the Thursday talks.
Regional leaders from Jubbaland and Puntland have been in Mogadishu since last week for the same talks, which they were initially to have only with Farmaajo.
Furthermore, the statement from Farmaajo’s office indicates that Mayor Omar M. M. Filish has also received invitation to attend the meeting.
Currently, leaders from Galmudug, HirShabelle, and Southwest states are in a meeting in Baidoa before departing for Mogadishu later.
