A former leader of the regional state of HirShabelle is now Somalia’s Special Envoy for Stabilization and Civil Protection.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud appointed Mohamed Abdi Bare as the new Special Envoy for Stabilization and Civil Protection.
Ware’s appointment was part of the raft of changes touching on President Mohamud’s administration that were announced on Saturday.
The ex-HirShabelle leader will not be responsible for coordinating efforts to ensure that civilians enjoy protection and security.
Furthermore, he is also expected to coordinate the provision of critical services to Somalis in regions that Somali National Army (SNA) recently liberated from Al-Shabaab terrorists.
