A former leader of the regional state of HirShabelle held discussions with a senior United Nations envoy on Somali elections.
Mohamed Abdi Ware, who served as the second President of HirShabelle, held the discussions with James Swan.
James Swan is the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General to Somalia.
The two met on Saturday, April 2.
They discussed the progress of parliamentary elections.
Mostly, Somalia has concluded parliamentary elections in a large portion of the country with the exception of a few remaining seats in HirShabelle and Jubbaland states.
Ware expressed gratitude to Ambassador Swan for leading Somalia’s international partners to remain loyal and helpful to the East African country.
