A former federal lawmaker Abdi Barre Jibril has criticized the recent blasts in Mogadishu and the rise in targeted assassinations of businesspeople by Al-Shabaab.
He attributes these security challenges to the appointment of inexperienced individuals to key security positions by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
Jibril further suggests that these appointments were made for political reasons rather than based on merit.
This statement reflects ongoing concerns about the effectiveness of the government’s security strategies and personnel in addressing the escalating violence in the capital.
