The former President of Puntland State, Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas, visited the current President, Abdullahi Deni at Garowe.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace.
Several dignitaries, including Puntland Regional State Parliament’s First Deputy Speaker, Abubakar Abdulaziz, accompanied the Gaas-led delegation.
Many Puntland MPs were also in the entourage. Officials in the local authorities attended the meeting as well.
President Gaas returned to the country during the last elections in Puntland. He led the opposition in criticizing the federal government.
He has also held a meeting with the top leadership of the Puntland administration to prepare for his upcoming tour of Jubaland regional state.
