A former advisor of the President of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has urged voters in Somalia to reelect Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.
Mohamed Abdirizak, who once served as President Farmaajo’s advisor, urged voters to reelect him to a second term.
Abdirizak stated this during an interview with Kenya’s Daily Nation.
He was speaking about the upcoming polls in Somalia, a country that has a history of electing presidents for only one term.
Abdirizak said three presidents have led Somalia since 2009.
He believes it would be good for Somalis to reelect a president back into office for the first time in the last 11 years.
Since 2009, Sheikh Sharif Ahmed, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo have led the country for at least one time each.
Sheikh Sharif Ahmed is likely to vie in the upcoming presidential elections in 2021.
