Former Somali Minister Claims Ethiopian Military Kicked Him out of His Home

A former Somali minister claims that the Ethiopian military ordered him out of his house in Dollow.

Col. Barre Adan Shire Barre Hiralle, a former Minister of Defense, said that Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) troops kicked him out of his Dollow home on Monday.

ENDF troops were in Dollow, which is along the border between Somalia and Kenya.

Apparently, the soldiers issued him with a 24-hour notice to leave his house along the border.

“The Ethiopian soldiers ordered me not only out of my home but also to leave the town within 24 hours on Monday evening,” said Hiralle.

He added that they threatened to put him in handcuffs and onto a plane to an unknown destination.

Hiralle has been one of the staunchest critics of Jubbaland’s President Ahmed Islam Madobe. It is not clear whether the order to leave town is linked to his differences with Madobe.
