The four Al-Shabaab inmates who were involved in Monday’s prison shootout with the guards have been killed.
Prison guards confirmed the news and said that the inmates were trying to escape from jail.
It is not clear how the prisoners got their hands on to the weapons that they used to engage the guards in a lengthy shootout.
However, the guards at Mogadishu’s main central prison eventually overpowered and killed all the four inmates.
Order has been restored at the facility, though.
