Four Children Killed in a Landmine Explosion in Central Somalia

Four children when a landmine exploded in Galgaduud region in Central Somalia on Friday, October 23.

Security sources believe that the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was planted in the region by unknown persons.

The Ministry of Education and Culture in Galmudug immediately released a press statement confirming the incident.

According to the statement, all the four children were from Bangelle Village.

Further, the education ministry stated that security officers have commenced investigations into the matter.

The education ministry also published details of the children killed in the explosion.

Jamil Daror Mohamed, Ahmedweli Qorane, Sharmarke Abdiqulkadir, and Sharmarke Abdiqulkadir who were in Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 4, and Grade 6 respectively.
