Galmudug elders have thrown their weight behind the ongoing operations by the government against Al-Shabaab militants in Somalia.
Traditional elders from the regional state of Galmudug offered this support during their meeting with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Sunday.
They assured President Mohamud of their support in efforts to liberate the country from the grip and terror of Al-Shabaab.
On his part, the President reminded them of the incredible role they have to play in the country’s liberation from terrorism.
Some of the roles they can play include mobilizing their communities as well as offering encouragement, guidance, and support toward the military.
The President pleaded with them to take a leading role in uniting the entire country behind the ongoing counterterrorism efforts.
