President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor of Galmudug held a meeting with the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General (SRSG) of the United Nations Mission in Somalia (UNSOM).
The meeting between the two took place on Wednesday, August 5 in Galmudug.
Anita Kiki Gbeho, UNSOM’s Deputy SRSG, visited President Qoorqoor in the company of other officials from the United Nations.
Qoorqoor briefed the UNSOM delegation on the progress his administration has made in the fight against Al-Shabaab and other extremists.
He also spoke of the humanitarian assistance that the people of Galmudug need.
Additionally, President Qoorqoor updated the UN team on elections and the preparations that his team has made.
Issues regarding security and development were also tackled during the meeting.
