Gavi-Funded Cholera Vaccination Campaign Kicks off in Somalia

A cholera vaccination campaign has kicked off in Somalia.

The campaign, funded by Gavi (the Vaccine Alliance), seeks to protect over 590,000 Somalis living in areas near Somalia’s border with Kenya and Ethiopia.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has a number of volunteers to spread the word regarding the vaccination campaign.

Thus far, UNICEF has hired 425 social mobilizers for this work.

According to UNICEF, the campaign would initially run in Dollow.
