Gedo residents celebrated the election of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud as the new President of Somalia.
The residents took to the streets to celebrate Mohamud’s status as the new leader of Somalia.
They gathered on the local streets to show their appreciation and love towards Mohamud who won the presidential elections held on Sunday, May 15.
Mohamud won the elections after three rounds of voting.
In the third round, he beat the incumbent President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaaho after garnering 214 votes to Farmaajo’s 110.
The celebrations took place in Dolow district.
