The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) blocked a journalist from traveling out of the country.
Authorities at the Aden Adde International Airport in Somalia blocked Abdalle Ahmed Mumin from departing the country on Monday.
Mumin was to travel to Nairobi to see his doctor on medical grounds.
However, authorities got wind of his plans and blocked him from leaving the country. They kept him in detention once again.
The journalist has endured constant harassment from authorities since October 2022.
He has been in and out of police custody multiple times.
Authorities released him from detention on March 26 only for them to detain him once again, according to a statement by the Somali Journalists’ Syndicate (SJS).
Mumin, an award-winning journalist, is the Secretary-General of SJS.
