Government Declares LYFT Tobacco Banned from Somaliland Indefinitely

The government of Somaliland has declared an indefinite ban on the sale and consumption of LYFT tobacco in the country.

In recent times, the public has expressed misgivings about the growing presence of the brand around the country.

The demand for LYFT tobacco among the country’s youth has grown exponentially too.

The ban comes a day after parliament summoned the country’s Minister of Religious Affairs to answer questions on LYFT tobacco.

However, Mohamud Hassan Saed Sajin, the country’s Minister of Commerce, has now urged law enforcement agencies to ensure the product is not sold or consumed in Somaliland.

He urged traders and consumers to stay away from the product because anyone caught selling or using it would be liable to prosecution.
