Government forces arrested 12 members of the Al-Shabaab group in the regional state of Southwest on November 7.
Somali National Army (SNA) troops operating in the Southwest capital of Baidoa nabbed the militants on Sunday.
Mohamud Mohamed Hassan, who is in charge of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) in the Southwest region, announced this development.
He was speaking to SONNA, which is the official news agency of Somalia.
According to Hassan, government forces successfully destroyed the militants’ network during the operation.
Hassan stated that the operation is part of the government’s efforts to ensure that the people of Baidoa, and Southwest region as a whole, enjoy peace and security.
