Hundreds of Guri’el residents went to the streets to offer their support to the new leadership of Galmudug State.
They marched through the streets of the town on Tuesday celebrating the election of the new state leadership.
Local authorities organized the demonstration to show their approval for the election of the new President of Galmudug, Ahmed Abdi Khaire.
The demonstrations took place in Dhusamareb early this week. Apart from celebrating President Khaire’s election, the locals were joyous at the election of the Depute President too.
Several similar rallies have taken place in Galmudug State. The election is expected to end the long-running political face-off in the region.
