Abdihamid Abdullahi Fanah was injured as clashes broke out between the military and militia members in Mogadishu on September 16.

Commander Fanah is the head of the Harama’ad Paramilitary Forces.

Fanah was injured when the two sides clashed in Mogadishu’s Banadir intersection on Thursday morning.

Commander Fanah then had to be rushed to the nearby Digfer Hospital, which is in the nation’s capital, for medical attention.

According to several sources, members of the elite military unit clashed with the militia over a land dispute.

Apart from Fanah, three other people were injured in the skirmishes.

Somali Police Force (SPF) officers have arrived at the scene of the clashes and secured the entire area to prevent further clashes.
