A 17-year old boy in Hargeisa has appealed for medical assistance from President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland.
The boy, Mohamed Abdi Iman, was diagnosed with kidney failure and advanced diabetes.
For the last five years, he has been receiving medical attention at Hargeisa Main Group Hospital but his condition is yet to improve.
Iman says his family is unable to raise the finances needed to get him better medical treatment in Somaliland or abroad.
Consequently, he has appealed to President Bihi to come to his rescue.
The teenager, who looks like a 10-year old boy for health reasons, is now asking Bihi to help him get treatment outside the country.
Iman, and his mother, say that the hospital he has been at for the last five years does not have a ward or wing for treating diabetic patients.
It lacks the equipment required to perform dialysis in children too.
According to Iman, doctors at the Hargeisa hospital have advised him to seem further assistance in either Borama or Mogadishu if he is unable to travel overseas.
