Dr. Fawziya Abikar, Somalia’s Minister of Health, has said the ministry is not aware why its finance chief was arrested.
Last week, police arrested Mohamud Mohamed Bulle, the Director of Administration and Finance at the Ministry of Health.
Dr. Fawziya says almost a week later her ministry is yet to receive a detailed report explaining the reasons for arresting her finance director.
She also clarified that her ministry is ready to cooperate with the agencies tasked with the ongoing investigations.
Similarly, the police are yet to comment on Bulle’s arrest. However, unconfirmed reports show he was arrested for his role in mismanaging donor funds in the Ministry of Health.
