The hearing of a case against a Somali security guard accused of killing a Kenyan construction engineer has ended.
A military court in Mogadishu heard the matter for the last time on Tuesday.
Hassan Abdirahman Indhoyare stands accused of killing Frederick Odhiambo Owino on July 20.
Indhoyare allegedly shot and killed Owino near the Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.
A military tribunal was then established to hear the matter.
While building its case, the prosecution asserted that Indhoraye was angry at the fact that a hose at the construction site was leaking.
He fired a single shot from his pistol but did not aim it at any person.
Unfortunately, it hit Owino who was on the upper floor of the building at the time Indhoraye’s pistol went off.
Indhoyare appeared in court to answer charges of unintentional murder.
His lawyer asked the court to treat the matter as a civil rather than a criminal case since what happened is a workplace incident.
