A hepatitis eradication campaign has been launched in Somalia.
This follows the move by Somalia to join the Group of Friends to Eliminate Hepatitis.
Dr. Ali Hajiadam Abubakar, the health minister, signed the pact that allows Somalia to join other countries in this campaign.
He reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the cause when addressing the United Nations Group of Friends to Eliminate Hepatitis.
The minister addressed the gathering on Sunday in New York.
Dr. Abubakar delivered a powerful speech in which he said that Somalia had taken a proactive step towards the eradication of the disease.
