HirShabelle is scheduled to hold elections for three House of the People (Lower House) seats on Saturday.
The regional State Elections Implementation Team (SEIT) announced that the elections would take place on April 9.
HirShabelle is one of only two regional states yet to conclude Lower House elections.
Jubbaland is the other state.
According to HirShabelle’s SEIT, the elections are for HOP#024, HOP#106, and HOP#140.
The elections for the three seats are to take place in Jowhar as the region rushes to conclude its polls before the swearing-in ceremony for new federal parliamentarians.
The swearing-in ceremony takes place on April 14 in Mogadishu.
