President Ali Gudlawe of the regional state of HirShabelle is in Beledweyne to coordinate emergency response
Gudlawe traveled to Beledweyne on Thursday.
He led officials from the local administration and various United Nations agencies to evaluate the extent of floods-caused damages.
Beledweyne has been hit heavily by floods after River Shabelle burst its banks this week.
He chaired a meeting today to plan emergency aid to those displaced and affected by the floods.
Gudlawe appealed to the UN agencies to help his administration to provide emergency relief to locals.
