Reports from Somalia’s semiautonomous region of HirShabelle indicate that a local minister was shot and killed at Jowhar on Thursday night.
Nur Hashi Abdulle, who serves as the Minister of Endowment and Religious Affairs, was killed in HirShabelle’s administrative capital on the evening of September 17.
Details of the exact circumstances under which he was killed remain a bit skimpy, though.
However, authorities have vowed to launch immediate investigations to bring those responsible for his death to book.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for Abdulle’s assassination.
