The leader of the HirShabelle state has sacked the chairman of the regional State Elections Implementation Team (SEIT).
President Ali Gudlawe announced that Ahmed Hassan Diini would no longer head HirShabelle’s SEIT.
Diini ceased being the SEIT chairperson with immediate effect.
Gudlawe appointed Mohamed Hussein Mohamed Waadi to serve as the HirShabelle SEIT.
The HirShabelle leader announced these changes on Sunday, March 20.
The changes come just when the regional state is planning to hold elections for the remaining Lower House seats.
