African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) troops from Burundi donated medical supplies to Somalia’s HirShabelle state.
Burundi National Defense Forces (BNDF) soldiers, who are part of the AMISOM mission in the Horn of Africa nation, handed their donation on Saturday.
The soldiers said their donation would go a long way towards helping local communities in HirShabelle to access quality medical care.
Furthermore, the donation is designed to help in mitigating the hardships that the COVID-19 pandemic has wrought on local communities.
Sa’adiya Mohamed Nur, HirShabelle’s Minister of Women and Human Rights, led a delegation that received the donation at Jowhar Airport.
