Hormuud Telecom has received the Somali Heroes Award.
Hormuud, which is the largest telecom firm in Somalia, received the award on November 10 from Somali ThinkTank.
Mohamud Beenebeene, the federal Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development, attended the award ceremony.
He commended Hormuud for the role it has played in reviving Somalia’s commercial sector.
Further, Beenebeene described Hormuud as a worthy recipient of the award for providing telecommunications and remittance when Somalis in the country really needed the services.
